Emerging Workforce

You are a piece of the puzzle.

In order for Ohio to develop and maintain a skilled workforce, it is critical that effective programs are in place for the emerging workforce Ohio’s youth.  Emerging Workforce Development services provide young adults ages 14 through 21 with assistance in getting employment, education, and training.

 

Emerging Workforce Development (EWD) is a program providing employment and training services to disadvantaged and at-risk youth between the ages of 14-21. Participants may face many life challenges such as drug abuse, learning limitations, criminal records, or mental health issues, in addition to having a low income.

 

Services available under EWD include, but are not limited to:

  • Education and job training
  • Work experience
  • Mentoring services
  • Post-secondary school and career guidance and planning
  • Community involvement and leadership development
  • Support services
